Dr. Eric Velazquez and Dr. Jerry Bloomfield from Duke University Cardiology helped start a cardiac fellowship at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya. Kenya is a typical developing country that has a significant prevalence cardiac disease. ASE member, Mike Foster RCS, RDCS is part of their the team because echocardiography plays a vital role in a fellow's understanding of acquired and congenital heart disease. Mike has been going over to help the technologists and fellows hone their skills in echocardiography. They spend their time scanning together as well going over educational materials. ASE responded to Mike's request to help support this echo lab. These guideline posters and DVD are one way ASE helps support an echo lab with limited resources. Thanks for your commitment to Echo, Mike! Check out some pictures below of ASE products in Kenya!
