In today’s environment with declining reimbursement, increased scrutiny and punitive policies coding accurately is more essential than ever. ASE is committing to providing members with information go make this easier. Please take minute to look over the 2018 ASE Coding Newsletter, and feel free share in with your staff to ensure correct reporting of services to obtain fair and reasonable reimbursement for procedures, tests, and visits.

Also Judy Rosenbloom, RDCS, FASE, is ASE’s coding consultant. She is an expert on coding and ASE members can ask her any coding and reimbursement questions they may have. You can link directly to her through the Coding and Reimbursement page, available from both the Advocacy and Practice Management Web pages.

It is critical to know where you stand with MIPS. CMS has released a MIPS Participation Lookup Tool to help you check on your 2018 eligibility for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Just enter your National Provider Identifier, or NPI, to find out whether you need to participate during the 2018 performance year. For additional information regarding this tool and an upcoming webinar regarding how to make the transition from MIPS APMs to Advanced APMs please click here.

On April 12 ASE was able to participate in a roundtable with Representative Peter Roskam (R-IL), the Chairman of the House’s Ways and Means Committee. ASE had the opportunity to discuss MACRA, the importance of registries to MIPS, the challenges societies face in establishing registries, the administrative burdens of the AUC mandate and the difficulties in working to move a category III to category I.

ASE is committed to ensuring echoes voice is heard!
